Expert Tips
Don’t skip the chill time! For best results, I like to chill mine for about 8 hours, but you can also just chill it for about 30 minutes so it gets colder and all of those flavors can come together prior to serving! Don’t have buttermilk on hand? I understand the issue of having everything on hand except for buttermilk. You can substitute the buttermilk for plain yogurt in a pinch, but it won’t have exactly the same flavor. Chunky vs. Smooth: My recipe is written so that you have a slightly chunky blue cheese dressing. But if you want a completely smooth dressing, simply blitz everything together in a blender or food processor and add in the chives at the end! If your dressing it too thick, go ahead and add a little bit of milk to thin it out!

So it is super simple to whip up, but has all of the flavors that you get with a classic steakhouse blue cheese. Budget-Friendly: While store-bought blue cheese salad dressing is definitely convenient, homemade dressings are actually much more budget-friendly!
