Have you tried the Starbucks iced chai latte? It’s a big deal and everyone is trying to copy it. Starbucks also sell their own chai concentrate. This is my version of the chai latte. And, it does not use any concentrate. In fact, it is made with regular tea and my own chai spice mix, which I previously shared with you. I think it’s better, and yet, I’ll let you be the judge. I also make a hot chai latte and chai latte cake that everyone loves.

About this iced chai latte

This chai latte takes only 5 minutes to make and needs only flour ingredients.

Milk – I am using regular 3% milk. But, almond milk, coconut milk, or soy milk would also be delicious.Tea – I am using regular English tea bags with my chai spice mix. But, you can also use chai tea bags and omit the chai spice. Personally, I think the chai spice adds a stronger and fresher flavor. Chai spice – If you don’t have a chai spice, I’ve given you a suggestion for substitute in the recipe card below.To sweeten, I like using honey or maple syrup. And yet, brown sugar has a wonderful caramel-like molasses flavor and also adds color.

In addition, today, I topped it with whipped cream because it looks so fancy and pretty. But, usually, I have mine without any whipped cream on top. Just a sprinkle of cinnamon works for me. You can also top it with milk foam.

Step by step instructions

First, infuse the tea in water for 5 minutes. Then, discard the tea bags.Tip – I like to squeeze as much as I can to get the most out of the teabag so the chai is strong in flavor.In a blender, combine the tea, milk, chai spice, and honey. Blend for two minutes.Next, put ice cubes in to two serving glasses. Then, strain the chai between the two glasses over the ice.Tip – You can also make the chai ahead of time and chill in the fridge.Top with milk foam or whipped cream and sprinkle some cinnamon powder.Enjoy!
