Navratan means nine gems, and it is common for the recipe to include nine different vegetables, fruits, and nuts. There are two kinds of Navratna Korma, one is with tomato gravy, which is a little bit spicy and another is with cashew which is a little bit sweet. These are Punjabi-style mixed vegetables in a mildly spiced, slightly sweet, creamy korma sauce. This is kids friendly recipe because of its sweet taste.

How to make Navratna Korma?

For gravy

  1. In a pan, boil cashew, onion and Magajtari bee using 2 cups water. Cook it till this is tender. Blend in a blender and make a smooth paste. Keep it aside.

For Korma 2. Take another pan, heat oil or butter. Add shah jeera. Let it crackled. Add cashew onion paste. Mix it very well. Let it cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Stir in between.

  1. Add Mixed vegetables, cashew, raisin, garam masala, pineapple, pepper powder, salt, sugar and paneer. Mix it well and let it cook for 10 minutes over medium to low heat.

  2. Lastly, add cream and mix very well. Cook it for 5 more minutes.

  3. Your Navratna Korma is ready. Serve it with Naan, Rice, Paratha or Roti.
