I seriously think that I might have gone through childhood with blinders on. I was so closed-minded. I had good taste, don’t get me wrong, but I was definitely a one-track taste gal. Like with ice cream? Chocolate chocolate chocolate and more chocolate. You should have been there the day I world was opened up to sherbet. Woah. I also thought the only way to eat broccoli was covered in melty cheese. Wait, you mean that broccoli has flavor? And there are exactly nine point seven hundred million ways to eat it- besides covered in cheese? Mind=blown. In retrospect, the whole thing really boggles my mind. I ate alligator for heaven’s sake. ALLIGATOR. But I wouldn’t eat anything but chocolate ice cream and broccoli covered in cheese?? What the…. something’s wrong with this picture. The story was similar in regards to bagels. Fluffy soft doughy bagels. I liked plain or wheat bagels with plain ole regular cream cheese. No garlic-y herb, no cinnamon honey, no nothing. Just plain cream cheese. But people, you can only live in a hole like that for so long. I still love plain cream cheese but, sometimes you’ve just gotta mix it up! Please don’t ask me why this recipe is Strawberry Cream Cheese Shmear and not just strawberry cream cheese. I really have no clue. I’m thinking maybe because it’s fluffier than regular cream cheese?? I dunno, it’s just this thing in my head, as soon as I tasted it – my tongue decided it was a shmear. So. Please do your breakfast routine a favor and whip up this fluffy decadent and ohmygoshsoeasy strawberry cream cheese shmear. Slather it on a bagel, or a toast, or your finger… this is your shmear.
