Burger buns may seem like a simple ingredient, but there’s actually a lot to know about them! Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Rise – Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Shape – Punch down the dough and divide it into 8-10 equal parts. Shape each part into a smooth ball. Proof – Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart. Flatten each ball slightly with your hand. Cover the buns with a damp towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes. Oven – Preheat the oven to 375°F /190°C/ Gas mark 5. Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
